Ybox at Maker Faire

The Ybox is made out of a candy tin and acts as an open hardware and software spec for IP-enabled capabilities. The makers, Josh and Tariqh will be giving away free 80 Ybox kits and lessons, courtesy of Yahoo!. In 2006 Josh and Tariqh won 2nd place at Yahoo! Hack Day. Josh Rooke-Ley and Tarikh Korula are the founders of Uncommon Projects, an interactive design studio based in Brooklyn, NY.

I’m going to be at the Maker Faire and hope I can get a free Ybox kit. Perhaps it’s on a first come first serve basis. If I get one I will make a video on making the Ybox. Photo by Kent Brew
