The U.S. Court of Appeals turned down the webcasters request to delay the onset of new royalty fees that will destroy the existance of the Internet radio stations. On Sunday, a fee structure is going to impose fees to every song and listener of Internet radio. These fees will make many Internet radio stations go bankrupt.
Big media will benefit from this new fee structure. CBS seems to be supporting the changes because they did not participate in the national day of silence on June 26th.
I’m sorry that the Internet radio is being whipped out because I love listening to independent radio stations on the Internet and I don’t want to listen to sites owned by CBS or Clear Channel. This is so messed up.
