To see video of the MacBook Air go to PopSnap.
MacRumors is where I was during Steve Job’s keynote. I didn’t have my EVDO card before they opened up the floor with free WiFi so I had to bum off of Xavier Lanier’s EVDO to read the live updates as the keynote was happening in the conference room I was standing outside of.
Once we were let in I went straight to the MacBook Air display to see if it really is the thinnest notebook in the world. It’s .16″ to .76″ and thinner than the thinnest part of the Sony TZ laptop. I picked it up and felt how light it is at 3lbs. It’s got a different shapped charger, that plugs into the side, than the MacBook and MacBookPro although the MacBook Air does compliment the two lines.
The keyboard is just like the MacBook, but what’s better is the MacBook Air has a LED widescreen at 13.3″ and is like a touch pad similar to the iPhone. The battery life is 5 hours, although it will probably be more like 2.5 hours after it wears down. You can buy an external SuperDrive for an additional $99. By clicking on the finder you are able to access software of other Apple computers in wireless range. This way if you don’t have Microsoft Word, but your neighbor does you can borrow their software.
It starts at $1799 and you can order it today!
